Welcome to the new on this podcast with Femi Akinyemi and before we go on, happy new year. May 2026 be a year of abundance, of awesomeness for you, prosperity, and good health. Because above all, you need good health. You have good health, you get up and you start and go again. And also a year of you always remembering that it's not over till it's over. So whatever the goals are, whatever the dreams are, whatever the plans are, you can still achieve it. It's not over till it's over. So with that said, welcome to 2026 and the Unleash Podcast. I have a big announcement today. It's a big announcement about a new chapter, a new identity, a new direction for your favorite podcasts. But before anything else, let me start by saying this. Thank you. Thank you for listening. Thank you for staying with me through the ups and downs, and the ups being when I would flood you with podcasts and goodness regularly, and the times when it goes quiet. Thank you for supporting the journey. And that's whether you've been here from the beginning or you're tuning in for the first time. Each and every one of you, I appreciate you. And today I want to share more about where we're going next and why you unleashed is evolving into something bigger, more focused, and more impactful, even for you, my listeners and our friends of the show. So, why is this change happening? Over the past few years, the podcast has grown far beyond what I at first imagined. And when I started out, I had no concept of what the podcast was going to be. All I knew was that I had a burning message that I wanted to be able to share. I needed a platform where I could come and share tools, tips about life, the challenges of life, and how to overcome them. I wanted to give a platform for to other coaches out there who have a powerful message to deliver. And by and large, we've achieved that. We've given you some great goodness. And if you look at our backlog, our catalogue of podcast episodes, there's so much goodness there. From finance to marriage, to relationships, to career, to speaking publicly, to diversity in the workplace, to earning what you truly deserve. There are lots and lots of great episodes where we have great guests who have come on to share. And the feedback I've had from everyone throughout that time has been amazing, heartwarming, and made me realize it's actually been worth it. But at the same time, over the past few years, as the podcast has grown and we've explored mindset, personal growth, unleashing your potential, I would just like to say the mission hasn't changed. It's remained the same. But something else has been happening. And it's been happening quietly in the background. But I've been getting it from feedback and people I listen to and from what the market is saying and from what you tell me. Through my work as a career coach, leadership coach, speaker, author, and change leader, I've seen a clear pattern. People don't just want motivation, they want strategies, they want structure, you want clarity, you want career growth. And let me just take a quick detour. Career growth is just not about nine to five. And it's not just about entrepreneurship. Career growth, your career is the thing through which you pour out your purpose and you earn a living. So whether you're an entrepreneur, whether you're in business, whether you're it's your side hustle, these are all the things you use to leverage your gifts to make money. People want to grow in this area. And ultimately, people want to be able to lead better. Again, I have an episode on leadership. Leadership is not just about leading people, it's about leading yourself. But it's also about leading people at a moment in time. If you're a parent, you're a leader. If in church, you're a leader. Even at work, when they ask you to do a project or to pick up any particular thing for five minutes or 10 minutes, in that minute, when you are speaking to people, you are a leader. And you all want to be able to thrive in this changing world. You turn on the news today, there is uncertainty, there's volatility, there's just a world where no one knows what's going to happen. Is AI going to take my job? Is the workplace going to get small? Is it going to become shrunk down so there's less people in the office? How do I compete? Do I need to leverage AI to compete better? How do I deal with different generations? You've got the baby boomers, you've got the millennials, you've got the Gen Zs. How do I interact with them and become a better professional? There is just so much there that we need to be a lot more targeted with to help you unlock your potential. But it's about bringing focus to it in this changing world. So as I've done this, my Career Labs brand has grown. It's become obvious. You unleashed and Career Labs, the brand which coaches people, have been living under two different houses, but they should be under one home. And after a lot of reflection, I realized it's time to bring everything into one powerful unified brand. And that brand is Career Labs Podcast with Femi Akiming. So you're probably thinking, what stays the same and what changes? Before you panic, let me reassure you, here's what is not going to change. My voice. My voice will remain the same. It would still be me anchoring the shows. I may bring guests, I may bring experts, but it will still be me. The honesty, I will continuously continue to look for good stuff, honestly, feedback, with honest feedback, honest quality content to give you. The storytelling won't change. The practical, real life lessons, that won't change. The need for you to shift your mindset and how to do this, that won't change. And then the heart of you unleashed. Me, you, on a podcast, you listening, me sharing, collaborating, that will never change. So that spirit is still there. It will be in every episode, every story, every guest conversation. And if anything, we are amplifying it. We are amplifying it by being more focused. So you're probably asking then, what's new? Here's what will be evolving in my career labs um podcast. Number one, clearer focused. We are diving deeper into career growth, into leadership, mindset, change, communication, adaptability, future skills. These are all the things. If you think of your career as a really delicious dish, these are all the ingredients that go into making sure that dish is amazing. And those things I mentioned are all the things in the recipe. But whenever I talk about them, I'll be talking about them in the lens of your career and how you build your career. The second one is it'll be a more of a structured series approach. So think career playbooks, leadership labs, mindset mastery, change room sessions, career clinics. Episodes will have more framework, more actionable tools, and more structure that you can use immediately. Number three, there'll be a stronger identity. Career Labs will connect your mindsets, your career direction, your leadership capability, real life growth. It will be all in one ecosystem. It'll be all connected with our newsletter, with the podcast, with the online courses, and with our website. It would connect everything together. And it just makes it a lot clearer for me, but even more so for you, that when you hear on a podcast, when you attend a session, where do I go for resources? How do I get the help I need? It would all be in one place for you. And lastly, as I said, there'll be a perfect alignment with the coaching we do, the online courses, the consulting, and the podcasts. Because Career Labs is not just a brand, it's a mission. A mission to help people grow and lead, thrive in this changing world or within the lens of your career. Because your career at the end of the day is what your life is built on to a certain degree. Because your career is what helps you do. If you do it well and you maximize it, you have purpose, you have joy, you have fulfillment, and you earn a bit of money, which means you have a good life and you're able to do the things you need to do because we all need to pay our bills. So the podcast will now sit at the heart of that mission. So, why did this matter for you? The rebrand isn't about the podcast sounding nicer, it's about serving you better. Everything we do is about you. Everything we do is about making sure it adds value to you. It's about giving you a clearer roadmap for your career. It's about giving you the tools to be a stronger leader, a deeper mindset shift, and practical strategies you can apply week in, week out. And this is the next level of what you only started.
